Marine Drive

Known as the 'Queen's Necklace', Marine Drive is a 3.6 km long boulevard in South Mumbai. The C-shaped road offers stunning views of the Arabian Sea and is perfect for evening walks. The promenade comes alive at night with beautiful street lights that resemble a necklace.

How to Reach:

Take a local train to Charni Road or Churchgate station. BEST buses 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 connect to Marine Drive. Metro: Take Line 1 to Churchgate. Taxis and auto-rickshaws are readily available.

Gateway of India

Gateway of India

Built in 1924, the Gateway of India is an iconic arch monument overlooking the Arabian Sea. This 26-meter high structure was built to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary to Mumbai. It's the starting point for boat rides to Elephanta Caves.

How to Reach:

Take local train to Churchgate/CST and then taxi/bus. BEST buses 1, 2, 3, 11, 21, 103 reach Apollo Bandar. Metro Line 1 to Churchgate, then 10-minute walk. Ferry services available to Elephanta Caves.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CST)

Haji Ali Dargah

A mosque and dargah located on a small islet connected to the mainland by a narrow causeway. Built in 1431, it houses the tomb of Saint Pir Haji Ali Shah Bukhari. The white marble structure offers panoramic views of the Mumbai skyline.

Take local train to Mahalaxmi station. BEST buses 26, 28, 33, 37, 83 connect to Haji Ali Circle. The causeway is accessible only during low tide. Auto-rickshaws and taxis are available from nearby areas.

Sanjay Gandhi National Park

Spread over 104 sq km, this national park is one of the few parks located within city limits. Home to leopards, deer, and over 250 bird species. The park houses the famous Kanheri Caves with 109 Buddhist cave monuments dating from 1st century BCE to 10th century CE.

How to Reach:

Take Western Line local train to Borivali station, then BEST bus or auto to park entrance. BEST buses 204, 210, 230 connect to the park. Entry gates: Borivali East gate is the main entrance. Park opens at 7:30 AM.
